Junction 40 at Taibach is the turn for central Port Talbot, half a mile north-west, on the A4107 for the Afan valley. Taibach and Lletyharri are beside it. The Aberafan Shopping Centre is under a mile north-west, and Neath Port Talbot Hospital about a mile and a half north-west.
